Oatmeal and Applesauce Cookies

Have been trying out some new Recipes that are not so unhealthy.   Usually when you add oats and applesauce instead of oil it’s better. Usually….
Look at the Drama Queen eyeballing my cookies.  She’s so cute.
You start out by making a big mess with all the ingredient’s.

2c. flour                              1 1/2c. uncooked rolled oats
1/2 tsp. baking soda            1c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt                          3/4c. shortening soft
1/2 tsp. cinnamon                1 egg
1/4 tsp. nutmeg                    1c. sweetened applesauce
1/2 c. raisins
Mix together flour, baking soda, salt and spices.  Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, 2 minutes or so.  Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet.  Bake 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

I really need a new cookie sheet.  Hint Hint Mom this would be a great  Christmas gift.
For the frosting I took some Betty Crocker Cream Cheese frosting and stuck it in the micro. for a few seconds to thin it out and then drizzled it over the cookies on wax paper.  Oh so good with a warm cup of coffee.
