Vintage inspired hair clip

The drama queen and I worked on some hair clips this weekend.  We did some flowers and lots of lace a little bit if bling.  Everyone loves bling… I was never really into all the hair stuff until my daughter came along.  With two boys I didn’t really have a reason.  I didn’t even do it for myself.  I guess you could say I was the ponytail mom.  Yuck!   Anyway on to the Vintage hair clip.

I started out with these really large barrettes that I found at the 99 cent store.  Some felt, scissors, lace and hot glue.

I placed the barrette upside down on the felt and traced around it, cut it out and hot glued it onto the barrette.  Be careful not to burn your fingers.

Add some lace.  I folded mine to make it look like it was gathered.  Using only hot glue.  No sewing required.

Next some trim was added and a little bling and done.  New barrette!
Hope you had a great weekend also.
