Oil Cloth Belts

You know how I love oil cloth.
There is so much I you can do with it.
This is just one more under my belt.
 He!He!
These little belts are simple to make.  All you need is to measure around your waist and add 10 inches.  So my waist is 40″ and I added 10″ for enough pull through.  Two D rings are needed for the closure and a sewing machine.

The belts on the outside are about an inch wide and the center one is roughly 2 1/2 inches wide with a skinny tie to tie together.  When you cut your oil cloth you will cut it an inch and a half wider than you want it so you can fold it over and tuck under your ends for a finished edge.  So if my belt is going to be 1 inch wide I want to cut 2 and 1/2 inches wide.  Place paper clips over to hold in place.  Top stitch down the length of your belt.  Place your D rings over one end and wrap over to the backside about 1 inch and stitch in place several times.  I also like to cut the ends with my pinking shears.

Love it!

A little floral print and some color never  goes out of style.
 How about you?
If you have any questions I will try my best to explain.
