What I Wore Wednesday { 3 seam top}

As you may all know I am obsessed with the color Turquoise.  I wear it almost everyday and my house is decorated in turquoise too.
It is a must have in my closet along with jeans and white tank top.
With Fall here I thought this mus~tardy yellow color and turquoise would be cute together.
What do you think?
It’s simple yet fun.
A multiple beaded necklace would be better or maybe a turquoise rolled flower one.
Note to self… (make flower necklace).  Hee hee!
I used Simplicity pattern #2560 for this top.  It really is an easy top to make even for  someone who has never sewn before.
If you use a non fray fabric you won’t even need to finish off the edges.
I think my biggest challenge learning how to sew was to read patterns.
Thank goodness for my mom who is an avid seamstress and has a successful drapery and upholstery business.  She showed me how to read a pattern about twelve years ago.
I don’t know how many times I’ve sewn things wrong and had to rip out seams and start over  again.
I’ve done that more times than I like to admit.
Crazy!
But I really wanted to learn to sew.
I enjoyed it so much when things went the way they were supposed to.
Have you ever tried to read a sewing pattern?
What was your experience with it?
I would love to hear your story …

  2. Great job on that tip! And turquoise suits you well. When I saw your shoes, I wondered if they were blue suede ones… then you could dance. 🙂
