Sew, Sew, Sew…

ImageOne of my childhood memories that I enjoyed was to watch my mom sew…

Let me tell you that woman can sew up a storm too…

She used to make Barbie clothes for me when I was little.   So I was able to dress up all my Barbies in the latest fashion trends.

This one time she made one of my junior high dresses for the Christmas dance.  It was a black long sleeve dress with a sweetheart neckline and white lace all over the top.  Can you believe mom made matching accessories too.  Covered button shoe clips and earrings.

 Crazy, uh?

Oh the things we will do to impress a boy.  At the time I thought I was the bomb.  Now, if I was to see pictures I would be so mortified.

I never was really  interested in sewing untill my son was born.   Getting to make all kinds of cute little outfits and blankets for him.  Then after having the two boy’s and all that boy stuff I finally got my little girl and all my sewing adventures have turned very girly.  We have a lot of fun together her and I.    I will ask her if she likes some kind of embellishment or ruffle and she will pause and say, (” UMM, No…” )  All I can do is laugh.

So this is just one of my many childhood memories and as you can see it has stuck with me…

Linking up over at A Step in the Journey with Laura Beth for the photography challenge.  We are down to the last few weeks of the challenge and I have learned a lot about photography.  Tips and tricks that I did not know.  It has been a lot of fun.
