So I was digging through a large bag of lace I had lying around in my sewing stash and was inspired to put it to good use and dress up a little plain cardigan my daughter had in her closet. Now I know most of you don’t have a bag of lace just lying around but it’s really inexpensive to buy a few feet at the fabric store. Just a little lace added to a plain cardigan and you can transform it into a very vintage inspired lace cardigan for spring.
You will want to lay out your lace and pin it in place on your cardigan. I folded under the ends of the lace at the bottom of the cardigan and at the shoulder seam.
Now all you need to do is run a straight stitch up the lace. Since the lace was about 1 inch wide I ran a stitch all the way around the outer edge of the lace and then ran 2 rows of stitching up the center just to make sure it laid nice and flat on the cardigan.
Another refashion down and now onto the next one. I really hope you join me tomorrow. If you missed day one’s post on how to cut you T~shirt you should check it out.
What do you love most about Spring?
I love that I can just throw on a light weight sweater and flip-flops and out the door I go. No multiple layers of clothing and a heavy coat. Can’t wait for Spring to get here soon.
