This is just a super quick Lazy Sunday afternoon mini T~shirt skirt I was able to whip up last night after the little ones went off to bed… I love how easy-going this skirt is. Perfect to wear around the house on Sunday afternoon. How perfect is that?
Can you believe it’s from a tee? Really it is…
- I laid the T~shirt out flat and cut it straight across just underneath the arms and that makes the base for the skirt
- Ran a straight stitch around the top edge.
- Pulled up the thread to gather the skirt a little bit.
- To make the waist band I cut two 5 inch wide strip of fabric from the tee in between the sleeves.
- Pinned and stitched the two pieces together at the sides.
- Then you will folded the band in half and stitch it together also.
- Attach the band to the gathered edge with right sides together and stitch all the way around.
- Overlock your edge where the two pieces meet.
- I pressed it up towards the band and top stitched all the way around.
- I used the bottom edge of the tee as my hem so no finishing was required.
That’s it!
