Well my lovely little family and I are huge fans of Cherry limeade from Sonic. When the weather gets warm that’s what we crave. It can get rather expensive for all five of us to go to Sonic all the time. So I really wanted to be able to make my own but I wasn’t sure how to. Of course this was before they were giving out the recipe to all their drink combos at Sonic. Nice!
It just so happened that one Saturday morning I just happened to turn on the The Pioneer Woman’s show and would you believe she was making cherry limeade. So naturally I had to rush to the grocery store to pick up all the ingredients to make it.
I just love the bright red color and all bubbles in it…
Cherry Limeade Recipe: (from the tasty kitchen via Pioneer Woman)
- 1 liter of Sprite
- 1 (8oz). jar of Maraschino cherries ( juice and all )
- 2 Limes
- A splash or two of Grenadine
- 2 cups Ice
- A pretty pitcher
Pour your Sprite into the pitcher add the cherries and juice. You must use the jar of cherries and juice. No cheating! Okay, maybe just one or two cherries won’t hurt. Cut your 2 limes into pretty slices and squeeze the juice into your mix. Then throw the limes into the pitcher. Stir it all together.
Put it into a tall glass and you have yummy cherry limeade.
It’s so nice to take a break to relax. Sit outside in the nice warm sun drinking a glass of this oh so delicious cherry limeade while watching the kids play.
That is until they start fighting with each other.
Then my break is over…
What have you done today to enjoy the warmer weather?
Do you have warm weather yet?
Thanks for posting this! I saw that PW episode, but completely forgot about it. It’s been 80 degrees here all week, I think it might be time to try this one out.
