DIY Fabric bucket

I have noticed that fabric buckets are really popular right now.  They are everywhere!  I am so in love with the pop of color or texture the fabric buckets can add to a room.  I’ve been wanting to make some to go with my home decor for a long time know I just haven’t gotten around to making any until now.

I was offered to participate in the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores HGTV Home fabric line review.

 I was so excited to be offered the opportunity to work with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and HGTV Home so of course I said YES!

I received Two 1-yard pieces of coordinating fabric- HGTV Home (Urban Blossom and Cherry and Checkered Past Berry)

l. HGTV fabric & trim from Jo-Ann Fabric Stores

2. cut out a cross or T shape on the fold of your fabric. Make sure your points are equal in size and shape.  My cross pattern is 12 inches on all 5 sides of my cross( if you need any help with this let me know and I will help) .   Cut the same cross out lining fabric for the inside of your bucket.

3. I added a nice contrasting braided trim to the edge of the outside of my bucket

4. cut, pin and topstitch a 12×3 piece of contrasting fabric to the edge of bucket.  Apply some craft interfacing to your bucket to give it a nice firm shape.

5. cut 2  10×3 pieces of fabric for your handles on the bucket.  Apply interfacing to those handle pieces also

6. fold your handles in half, unfold and fold in both edges to meet your center crease. Fold again and pin into place. Topstitch your handle along both edges.

7. pin handles to bucket and stitch in place

8. stitch your lining the same way as the outside of the bucket skipping step 3.  Place the lining inside your bucket with wrong sides together.  Fold over the edges of the fabric about 1/2 in. and pin in place.  Sew around your top edge of bucket.

You now have a new fabric bucket!!!
