Joann fabric and craft stores asked me to be a part of their “Cape Discovery” summer crafting challenge. Also to spread the word about having a summer of fun and inspire families to do some crafting.
I’m so excited to participate.
I was only allowed to choose 1 craft from 72 different projects Jo-Ann features in their Spring catalog. It was not an easy thing to do, but I thought little miss Drama Queen would love to embellish her own flip flops.
The flip flops to the right are our version of embellished flip flops and the ones to the left are by Jo-Ann’s. We did have a few hang-ups with some of the embellishments not wanting to stick very well… I don’t know if it’s due to how hot it is here but I used an adhesive glue for this project. One example is the sticky back dot and star embellishments came off after wearing the flip flops just once. So I took it off and applied Beacon Gem-Tac Permanent Glue and it’s been holding up great.
We loved this project so much that we embellished some flip flops out of the closet that we already had.
I was defiantly a great little project for any kid to do.
If you like this project please Pin it using hashtag #summerofjoann…
There is a Pintrest contest to see which blogger has the most repins for a chance at winning $100 Jo-Ann gift card.
Woo-hoo! What I could do with $100?
If you sign up with Jo-Ann’s you can receive a 20% off coupon toward your purchase.
Love what you created! 😀
