Simple Hair ties

  IMG_2093

I’m sure you all have seen these pretty hair ties in the stores a lot lately…

I’ve been wanting some, but  knew you could get the elastic very inexpensively to make my own.

I just happened to be browsing the ribbon aisle at Hobby Lobby and came across a bunch of different colors of this elastic.  I wanted to buy up every color they had, but I ended up settling on pink and cream colors to start this little project.  Will have to pick up some more colors the next time we are at the store.

These little hair-do-das are super simple and easy to make.

I took the elastic and wrapped it around my wrist to measure out how long one hair tie needed to be.  Tied it into a knot and done!

I wanted to be able to wear it on my wrist as a bracelet but if need be I could pull my hair or my little ones hair up in an instant when the wind started blowing or it got super hot.

The weather can change here in the desert in a heartbeat.

We have to have that hair tied up or we will be fighting tangles all day.

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

  2. I bought a bunch of these elastics awhile back but was having trouble figuring out the length – thanks for sharing the measuring your wrist idea. Now I can make a bunch and have them at the ready!!! Now I just need to figure out the measurements for a headband??? Oh well. Great post thanks for sharing.

  4. This design is steller! You most certainly know how to
keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I
was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job.

I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
    Too cool!
