With Halloween almost here I’ve finally finished up decorating my space for the holiday.
Today I’m happy to share with you a new table runner I just got done sewing up for my entry way table. A spooktacular one with a cute purple cobweb print and some black & white zebra print fabric.
I started off by cutting out a 72×10 inch runner with a triangle pointed edge out of black lining fabric. I used and old runner I already had as my pattern. Next I laid out the 4 different fabrics I was wanting to use to figure out what pattern I was wanting to create.
3 – 13×10 sections (1 purple, 2 black)
2 – 6×10 sections (black cobweb print)
6 – 2 1/2 sections (zebra)
2 – pointed ends (black cobweb print)
1 – 72×10 black lining for back
hem tape
Once the fabric pieces were cut I was able to sew them together in a long strip that was 72 in long. I like to topstitch the fabric layers down to give it a more finished look.
Laying my lining fabric on top of my other one with right sides together. I pinned them to each other making sure to leave a small opening for turning. Then just sewed them together. Trim the edges and turned right side out.
Press with iron and use the hem tape closed up the small opening used for turning the table runner right side out.
Very awesome! I can’t wait for Halloween.
