Everyone loves a handmade gift, especially when the gift is for a sweet little baby.
I had made some of these when my niece and daughter were born but completely forgot how fun and cute DIY baby burp cloths can be until I happened to come a crossed some on Pinterest that inspired me to make a few of my own for a friend who just had a little baby boy.
All you need is a pack of cloth diapers and some scrap fabric to make this project. I used cozy baby flannel but you could use anything you like. I’ve made some burp cloths using cotton fabric instead of flannel and it works real nice too.
I cut the material to fit the middle part of a cloth diaper (19″ x 6″). Then I folded the fabric over along the edges and ironed down the sides making sure all the raw edges are tucked in. Using pins to secure the fabric to the middle of the diapers before stitching along the edges of the fabric to secure the fabric to the diapers.
Pressed them with a hot iron and folded them up real nice and neat.
Stacked the burp cloths on top of each other and wrapped them with a ribbon.
Now all I have to do is take them to the new mom.
If anyone has any ideas on great handmade gifts to make for babies please let me know. I would love to hear what you ideas you have.
