As a new mom you can always use a few diaper bags. This one is nice because by using laminated fabric you can just wipe it clean without worrying about the fabric getting all dirty and messed up.
This was such a fun project to make. It was the another part of the Baby Burp Cloths gift I made for our neighbor that just had a baby.
I’ve sewn with oil cloth before and like to work with it but laminated fabric is a little different. It’s a lot more flexible like fabric but you still only have one shot to sew on it. So it can be a little intimidating.
I added some fun hardware to this laminated diaper bag. A few rivets to the front pocket and shoulder strap for added embellishments. I also found some inspirational metal tags in the scrapbook section of JoAnn fabric and crafts store and I thought they fit perfectly with this bag so I added one to the pocket flap of the bag.
Well if you’ve never tried using laminated fabric yet you should give it a try. There are so many different projects out there to try with this fabric. I made a zippered make-up pouch you can check out here but I would really like to make a rain coat for my little one. Even though it doesn’t rain a whole lot here. I just want to try it.
Looks Great Jeanna!
